hello "vegetarians"
For some people becoming “vegetarian” is hip. it’s cool because its somewhat rebelious right? well no. its actually rather obnoxious. for others who have been vegetarians for quite some time, 6 years for myself, its a lifestyle and a statement. not a trend. if you aren’t trying to make a statement about the injustices shown in the video above or have a strong want to be healthy and live without consuming muscle and fat then that is perfectly fine. the more activists the merrier, but if it’s “trendy” to you then please stop. or maybe watch the videos above, especially the first one it’s amazing, and then maybe you’ll actually do what you’re doing for a reason.
I’ve only been vegetarian for about a month, but it has been a huge sacrifice for me. Frankly, I love meat. However, its impact on the environment is not worth my satisfaction.
I know that it may be annoying that people choose to become vegetarian because they think it’s hip, but I personally don’t care what their intentions are because in reality, it just means less meat is consumed.
Okay, Mr. “EMILY”. Take a listen: 6 fucking years ago, when you started, if someone said, “Hey, stop clinging to a fad!” you’d be more discouraged from making it 6 years, and encouraged to continue. And so what if someone is doing it because it is cool. If you care so much, let them, that means your “statement” has caught on, that you’re having an effect beyond yourself, your goal is met, so stop complaining. I’m vegan right now, have been before. But this isn’t a “statement” or a lifestyle choice, it’s for as long as I can do it. But you don’t get to decide what I do. You complain that people are doing something wrong by living off meat, and complain when they decide to live without it, how is that any less wrong that the principles behind their reasons. If someone wants to donate millions of dollars to help the preservation of bears, let them, even if they’re doing it because they feel guilty, or want attention. They’re still doing it. And there are a lot of vegetarians that don’t go around bragging about how long they’ve been one. And John is here asking me if I’m done, so my thoughts aren’t really organized here, but you get it, yeah, you get it.
EDIT: I looked at the video, and PETA? Really? Look at the millions they spend on advertising, and hiring models. I HATE stupid shit like that. HOORAY WE’RE ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE. In conclusion: Eat shit, Emily Martin.
I enjoyed this. I hear shit is vegetarian, too.
